We must do everything in our power to fight the proposed bill being passed by the senate as we speak in America, this bill would effectively sell those of us who resist Monsanto controlled foods into compliance with their ill conceived products. It is a global monopoly that threatens our human rights on every level re: food and personal choice. This isn’t just some conspiracy bullshit people, this is the real deal, this is going to happen unless we do something about it, the new bill makes it:

“If accepted [S 510] would preclude the public’s right to grow, own, trade, transport, share, feed and eat each and every food that nature makes. It will become the most offensive authority against the cultivation, trade and consumption of food and agricultural products of one’s choice. It will be unconstitutional and contrary to natural law or, if you like, the will of God.” It is similar to what India faced with imposition of the salt tax during British rule, only S 510 extends control over all food in the US, violating the fundamental human right to food.” ~ Dr. Shiv Chopra, Canada Health whistle blower.

In 2008, Hillary Clinton, urged a powerful centralized food safety agency as part of her campaign for president. Her adviser was Mark Penn, CEO of Burson Marsteller*, a giant PR firm representing Monsanto. Clinton lost, but Clinton friends such as Rosa DeLauro, whose husband’s firm lists Monsanto as a progressive client and globalization as an area of expertise, introduced early versions of S 510.
S 510 fails on moral, social, economic, political, constitutional, and human survival grounds.

1. It puts all US food and all US farms under Homeland Security and the Department of Defense, in the event of contamination or an ill-defined emergency. It resembles the Kissinger Plan.

2. It would end US sovereignty over its own food supply by insisting on compliance with the WTO, thus threatening national security. It would end the Uruguay Round Agreement Act of 1994, which put US sovereignty and US law under perfect protection. Instead, S 510 says:

COMPLIANCE WITH INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS.
Nothing in this Act (or an amendment made by this Act) shall be construed in a manner inconsistent with the agreement establishing the World Trade Organization or any other treaty or international agreement to which the United States is a party.

3. It would allow the government, under Maritime Law, to define the introduction of any food into commerce (even direct sales between individuals) as smuggling into “the United States.” Since under that law, the US is a corporate entity and not a location, “entry of food into the US” covers food produced anywhere within the land mass of this country and “entering into” it by virtue of being produced.

4. It imposes Codex Alimentarius on the US, a global system of control over food. It allows the United Nations (UN), World Health Organization (WHO), UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and the WTO to take control of every food on earth and remove access to natural food supplements. Its bizarre history and its expected impact in limiting access to adequate nutrition (while mandating GM food, GM animals, pesticides, hormones, irradiation of food, etc.) threatens all safe and organic food and health itself, since the world knows now it needs vitamins to survive, not just to treat illnesses.
5. It would remove the right to clean, store and thus own seed in the US, putting control of seeds in the hands of Monsanto and other multinationals, threatening US security. See Seeds – How to criminalize them, for more details.

6. It includes NAIS, an animal traceability program that threatens all small farmers and ranchers raising animals. The UN is participating through the WHO, FAO, WTO, and World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) in allowing mass slaughter of even heritage breeds of animals and without proof of disease. Biodiversity in farm animals is being wiped out to substitute genetically engineered animals on which corporations hold patents. Animal diseases can be falsely declared. S 510 includes the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), despite its corrupt involvement in the H1N1 scandal, which is now said to have been concocted by the corporations.
7. It extends a failed and destructive HACCP to all food, thus threatening to do to all local food production and farming what HACCP did to meat production – put it in corporate hands and worsen food safety.

8. It deconstructs what is left of the American economy. It takes agriculture and food, which are the cornerstone of all economies, out of the hands of the citizenry, and puts them under the total control of multinational corporations influencing the UN, WHO, FAO and WTO, with HHS, and CDC, acting as agents, with Homeland Security as the enforcer. The chance to rebuild the economy based on farming, ranching, gardens, food production, natural health, and all the jobs, tools and connected occupations would be eliminated.

9. It would allow the government to mandate antibiotics, hormones, slaughterhouse waste, pesticides and GMOs. This would industrialize every farm in the US, eliminate local organic farming, greatly increase global warming from increased use of oil-based products and long-distance delivery of foods, and make food even more unsafe. The five items listed — the Five Pillars of Food Safety — are precisely the items in the food supply which are the primary source of its danger.

10. It uses food crimes as the entry into police state power and control. The bill postpones defining all the regulations to be imposed; postpones defining crimes to be punished, postpones defining penalties to be applied. It removes fundamental constitutional protections from all citizens in the country, making them subject to a corporate tribunal with unlimited power and penalties, and without judicial review.

The police state we see in all those sci fi films really isn’t that far away, the truth is it isn’t the governments that control these fear mongering armies of black clad baton wielding sheeple, but infact the corporations, the corporations we’re giving our power too willingly on a day to day basis. Make a choice between LOVE or FEAR.. the time is now.

The turbulence in Thailand over the last few months has been deeply upsetting. The peaceful protests to the calling for fair leadership have erupted into all out street battles between the Army and the people of this beautiful country. The land of smiles has been flipped on its head.

So heres what their fighting over and where the conflict stands at the moment:

The Red Shirts want to get rid of the current government, headed by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, who was born in Newcastle.

They claim his PAD party should be removed because it came to power after the military forced out the previous government.

Thai troops Thai troops have taken back control of Bangkok’s shopping district

They are demanding fresh elections and a new constitution for the country.

The two sides have clashed many times in the past, but the conflict has intensified since the start of 2010.

Although no one has claimed responsibility, anti-government protesters have been blamed for a series of bomb attacks on police and school buildings.

From March until now, the Red Shirts occupied parts of Bangkok city centre including the top shopping district.

A security force of around 50,000 troops was called in to get rid of them.

During one attempt to clear out the protesters, 38 people were killed and 800 injured.

Now troops have stormed the protestors’ camp and arrested its main leaders.

My bestfriend lives in the heart of Bangkok and has been filling me in on whats actually going on, its deeply disturbing, i just get a sense the armies been waiting to scratch this itch for quite sometime, the result is well exactly what they wanted. The protesters are now terrorists..

The government messed up this time, bringing in the military, has further driven a divide between the people of Thailand and the ruling parties. The Red Shirts will now deal with this as a dictatorship, and if the King is infact in poor health the country will be torn in two due to civil war.

Downtown Bangkok turned into a flaming battleground today as an army assault toppled the Red Shirt protest leadership, enraging followers who fired grenades and set numerous fires that cloaked the skyline in a black haze.

Using live ammunition, troops dispersed thousands of anti-government protesters who had been camped in the capital’s premier shopping and residential district for weeks. Four protesters and an Italian news photographer were killed in the ensuing gunbattles and about 60 wounded.

After Red Shirt leaders gave themselves up to police, rioters set fires at the Stock Exchange, several banks, the headquarters of the Metropolitan Electricity Authority, the high-end Central World shopping mall and a cinema complex that collapsed.

The government declared a nighttime curfew in Bangkok, and said army operations would continue through the night. An announcement signed by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and broadcast on television said nobody in the capital was allowed out of their homes from 8pm until 6am unless they have permission from authorities.

Protesters also turned their rage on the local media, which they have accused of pro-government coverage. They attacked the offices of state-run Channel 3, setting fire to cars outside and puncturing water pipes that flooded the building.

Cabinet minister Satit Vongnongteay described the chaos as anticipated “aftershocks.”
“There are violent-prone protesters who remain angry,” Satit told a news conference.

What a night…! Our first Headway event went down a storm at Truth nightclub in Preston on Friday. The club was packed from wall to wall and everyone was loving it. The night started off with Dj Bezz on the decks spinning old school hip hop from the likes of Gangstarr, The Lox and The Roots which got all the bboys dancing.

Our bunny rabbit shot girls looked fabulous with their edwardian themed costumes and make up. They got the dancefloor started with their serious moves, a very big thank you to our lovely bunny girls. This would probably also explain why everyone was extremely merry throughout the night with their £2 shots that they were selling, how could one resist!

Skepta got the crowd excited and sweaty with his set, as you can see from the photos the club was absolutely rammed by this point and his performance was excellent, big up Skepta. Special guest Chipmunk also turned up and was seen mingling in VIP.

The gorgeous Vylle Croom aka Orlando from BBC 1’s Material Girl brought us some dirty Drum & Bass which was a nice follow up to Skepta’s performance, as people were brucking out to the filthy beats on the dance floor, with our Madhatter bboys still on form.

We cant wait for the next event, make sure you don’t miss out this time!

I could quite possibly say that the best night I’ve ever been to, in my entire LIFE, was Brainfeeder last year in London which was held at a massive car park somewhere in old street…. It certainly lives up to its name with some next level psychadelic, eclectic, yet oh so filthy basslines. With the trippy sound of Flying Lotus, The Gaslamp killer, Danny Breaks, Hudson Mohawke & Kode9, everyone in there felt like they were on a different planet. Best night of music ever, by far. You know when you just dont know what to do with yourself. Words can’t describe the vibe and sounds. The Brainfeeder crew have got a free podcast, so there will be no excuses for not listening.. I’m rinsing it as we speak and am not surprised that they’ve thrown in a bit of Fela Kuti in there. Yea, it’s like that. They took it there and they take it way beyond. Enjoy the journey. We find it very hard to believe that tickets are only £12.50.

Download festival is marking it’s eighth consecutive event at Donington Park this year, and have added Christmas number one sellers Rage Against The Machine and Aerosmith fronted by Steven Tyler to their event lineup.

RATM and Aerosmith will join up with AC/DC, Them Crooked Vultures, Wolfmother, Bullet For My Valentine, Motorhead, Deftones, Stone Temple Pilots, Volbeat and Megadeath. Billy Idol has also been added to the roster.

The event takes place between June 11 and 13, marking the 30th anniversary of rock festivals at the site which is located in Leicestershire, UK.

Rage Against the Machine will perform at the event just days after announcing another date for there Christmas number one free gig celebration, where they are due to play at Dublin’s O2 on June 8 and at Finsbury Park on June 6.

As far as Sound Systems go, ive worked with a few but none quite like Function One Sound or maybe the Dillinja Sound System but thats another story. I think all of us agree that if your at an event be it and out door rig festival, rave, club etc the most important thing is the quality of sound. Its the make or break of any event. Function One Sound Systems approach their work from a spiritual cerebral perspective. The sound they have managed to harness fills the room with bass,sub bass and treble, its like wearing a wool jumper of sound.
